It wasn't easy determining the colour of the Doctor's hat in Fury From the Deep. With the serial being lost, and there being relatively few publicity shots (all in black and white) it took time to establish. But I finally found a couple of behind the scenes shots that appeared to be genuine colour photos rather than retouched ones, and the hat was indeed a lovely shade of periwinkle blue.
ah. back when WWII was on, he was in the navy and wear probably the same tea cosy to a numbers of battles. saying the helmets won't do him any good for keeping his head warm
It does feel very much like those old movies that were coloured for later releases - which is in no way a bad thing. It's a tricky thing to do perfectly, so I think you've done a great job.
It works as a coloured photograph - in the same way as we used to hand-tint photographs in the early years of the Twentieth Century. So it's its own thing.
Not bad. Teeth are always a problem in any medium. The reason it looks so odd is that the hue is uniform across his face. You might expect to see bits of reds and blues in there (just tiny percentages like 1-2% in some places, but the variation would be noticeable).
Thank you, kind sir. Human flesh tones are a pain in the rear end all right. Silurians are a great deal easier! I'll work on it and may submit an amended version later.
